POUND PUPPY ANIMAL RESCUE

TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR ADOPTION OF A DOG 2016

In the text below "Dog" will be taken to mean any canine of any age or sex.

Pound Puppy Animal Rescue offers animals only to adopters who accept these terms and conditions. Pound Puppy Animal Rescue reserves the right to remove a dog if it is convinced that the owner has violated a term or condition.

  1. The Dog's Health: There is no guarantee that the dog is or will be free of disease or behavioural disorders. Pound Puppy Animal Rescue makes every effort to confirm that a dog is healthy and socially acceptable before homing it. We cannot, however, exclude the possibility of a lurking disorder in a particular animal.

  1. Similarly, Pound Puppy Animal Rescue cannot guarantee the parentage, breed or age of any dog, nor in the case of a puppy, its future size or appearance.

  1. The owner will notify Pound Puppy Animal Rescue immediately if a dog becomes unwell (e.g. diarrhoea/sickness) within two weeks of adoption. Pound Puppy Animal Rescue will then arrange to have the animal inspected, and if necessary treated, by one of our own vets who will also investigate whether a sick dog could have infected other dogs in our care.

  1. The dog will be fed, watered and maintained in good condition and have adequate exercise every day.

  1. The dog will have regular veterinary health checks and routine immunisations at the owner's expense. If the dog appears ill or injured, the owner must take timely advice from a qualified veterinary surgeon at the owner's expense.

  1. All dogs over the age of 6 months in our care are spayed/castrated, and microchipped. Puppies are vaccinated and must be spayed/castrated by the age of 6 months. This is not optional. Puppies will be microchipped to PPAR until proof of neutering is produced. When proof is provided the chip registration can be changed to the new owner.

  1. The dog will always wear a suitable collar with an identity tag (not to include the dog’s name). Micro chipping is not a substitute for a collar tag.

  1. Every change of the owner's address and contact details will be reported to Pound Puppy Animal Rescue.

  1. Any representative of Pound Puppy Animal Rescue will, at any reasonable time, be granted the access necessary to inspect the dog and its home, if there are concerns about the dogs welfare.

  1. If, for any reason, the dog has to be given up, it must be returned to Pound Puppy Animal Rescue for re-homing.

  1. Donations received are not refundable under any circumstances. All donations are used for the upkeep of animals in our care.

  1. The owner will take the dog to a minimum of six training classes unless pound Puppy Animal Rescue agree it is not necessary.

  1. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES ARE DOGS TO BE TETHERED OR HOUSED OUT OF DOORS.
